MKT Bridge #12 & #13 7-16-2010
Site remediation is underway at the site today and therefore the section of trail between Country Woods Estates and Scott Blvd is closed to all trail users till 4:30 today.
We will re-open the trail for weekend use, but please be advised the approach work is still not complete and there is a great deal of rough material at each end of the bridge.
We will close the trail section again on Monday morning from 7:30-4:30 for the remainder of the week for finish work to be performed and subsequent re-grading work to be done between Scott and bridge #12.
The construction road around #12 and #13 are both in the process of being removed, so please use the constructed bridges.
The trail will be open after 4:30 each day at users own risk. Loose surface material and/or construction equipment will be the biggest dangers.

Just tried out the new bridges for the first time today during my run. They look great! Looking forward to when the rest of the trail is back to good condition.
What are the chances of biking from McBaine to Flat Branch on Thursday, July 22?
zachick...Thanks for the feedback. We always appreciate the good feedback, but need both good and bad to deliver a better product.
We still have a little way to go with adding some larger rock to the tire ruts then resurfacing with our MKT mix that gives a solid running surface. There will be a couple of weeks when the trail will be hard to run on, but once the contractor pulls out of the site you can expect a better trail and bridges than existed before. We appreciate your patience.
bscroggs: Depending on the construction activity you might be able to get through. If the contractor is laying down rock, we strongly advise taking the detour that would take you:
Before entering construction zone( by passing under Scott Blvd)
Turn right (South) on to Scott Blvd.
Proceed to the 3 Way Stop 1/8 mile;
Turn left (East) on Vawter School Road
Proceed 1/2 mile to the 4 Way Stop;
Turn left (North) on Country Wood Road
Proceed 1/2 mile all the way down to the MKT trail.
Turn right (East) on MKT and head downtown to your destination
We apologize for the inconvenience, but would rather close the trail to users to avoid potential dangerous situations posed to the general public.
