The 8' wide concrete trail from Rollins to Weaver has been completed. We will begin back filling the trail with soil, placing straw mulch and spreading winter wheat for erosion control as soon as the weather allows.

Bridge replacement at Wilson Park

After getting the agreement with the University of Missouri and final approval from City Council work on replacing the bridges at Clyde Wilson Memorial Park (aka Rockhill Park) has begun. The concrete walls, steel and decking have been installed for the first bridge on the Rollins Ave side. No railings have been install because of the equipment the crews are bringing across.

The second bridge has been demolished. Replacement work for it should begin immediately.

Please be advised these bridges are active construction sites. Conditions and access may change daily. While the park is open, trail access and drainage crossings may be impossible. Please excerise care while the construction is occurring.

Other trail work on the Rockhill trail and the Wilson and the Rollins entries have been going on as weather and other projects allow. Again these trails may change considerably from day to day. Be prepared for loose or uneven surfaces as the work progresses.

Trail Condition Updates: Friday, 10/23/09

We've been getting some calls asking if any trails are flooded and as of 11:30 am on Friday, Oct 23, we are happy to report that all trails are still above flood waters. Park crews are nearly finished cleaning out the sand and silt that was deposited in the downtown and MKT Stadium tunnels and will begin inspecting all trails this afternoon.
